Vinyl Siding and Composite Trim:

Vinyl Siding can be made to look more custom by installing new PVC composite trim around your existing windows and doors as well replacing the existing corner boards so that            thin J-channels don't have to be used.  Vinyl siding is the least expensive option for siding installations and low maintenance.

Cedar Shingle/Shake or Clapboards:

Homes sided in cedar shingles (also called "shakes") blend beautifully with wooded landscapes. Made of natural cedar, the shingles are usually stained browns, grays, or other earthen colors. Shakes offer the natural look of real wood, but usually require less maintenance than wood clapboard. By using stain rather than paint, you can minimize peeling.  Cedar Clapboards run horizontally with either a 4" or 5" vertical exposure and usually comes oil primed from the factory. For a superior installation we recommend that your painter gives a second oil priming before applying the finish paint with 2 coats of solid stain,  exterior latex or alkyd based paints.

HardiPlank or Cementitious type Clapboards:

Hardi-Plank can come smooth or in a wood grain texture that is more recommendable.  It also comes pre-painted by the factory in a variety of standard colors or can be upgraded to a desired custom color.  This is a mid range type of siding and is virtually maintenance free but will require painting every 15-20 years.

Want to go GREEN...Here are some Environmental Options:

Fiber cement siding is considered to be a green siding, and it is also very durable, and rot and insect resistant. It looks very much like wood siding, and is available in many styles, and you can even get boards with factory applied color. Often times called Handiplank or Hardipanel.

Cedar or pine siding that is FSC certified is considered a green siding product. FSC certified means that the wood came from a forest that is grown and harvested by Forest Stewardship Council guidelines. The trees are grown and harvested much like corn or wheat, it just takes a little longer. The siding is just like the wood siding you are used to seeing on older houses but its green
